Book excerpt: This paper explores the question how the current methods in place for green knowledge management support or hinder the efficient implementation of green supply chain management (GSCM) practices in Greek manufacturing companies and how much added value for their supply chain these companies see in such measures. Greece is considered to be an economy with low perceptions of environmental friendliness within the business community. Based on a literature review the data for this research were collected through multiple in-depth case studies. The findings suggest that while good co-operation and information flow with suppliers and clients can support and also initiate a company's GSCM practices, the definition and implementation of relevant measure items and targets seems indispensable for the improvement of information quality and as an important driver for implementation of GSCM practices.
