Book excerpt: My work has always flirted with aging, memory, and death. As we grow older we alter, and with that alteration, whatever we have embodied on the path transcends the changes our minds and bodies undergo. In Too Long at the Fair, I take the subject of memory and bring out the humor, the beauty and the holiness of that path of transformation. I am fifty years old, so each of these poems are fifty words or less, giving a nod to my own aging.
