'it is always less when the disease is produced by a wound than when it is caused by gangrene; much will also depend upon the natural thickness of the wall of the abdomen, and the degree of plumpness or emaciation of the individual. Lallemand met with an instance where the distance between the two points was nearly two inches, and in another, which fell under the observation of Delpech.
