Book excerpt: An analysis and description of archaeological materials from two Early Middle Period sites, Gowen 1 and Gowen 2, located in south central Saskatchewan. Descriptions of the physical and biotic environments, both past and present, are provided, as are detailed descriptions of various artifact assemblages and cultural features. Comparisons with 113 other archaeological sites situated throughout the Plains area are made and a discriminant function analysis of a series of Early Middle Prehistoric Period projectile points is carried out.
