Book excerpt: Philipp Wendel (b. 1680), son of Hans Jacob Wendel (ca. 1656-1695), was married to Anna Margaretha Diehl?. They had six children, who were all baptized at Framersheim, Germany. The children were: 1. Johannes (b. 1705); 2. Anna Elisabetha (b. 1707); 3. Valentin (b. 1711); 4. Augustin (b. 1714); 5. Christophel (b. 1716); and 6. Johann Jacob (b. 1721). Philipp and son Augustin came to America in 1732. Others came at different times. Valentin, Augustin and Christophel were settled in Frederick Co., Virginia before 1735. Petronella Wendel (1697-1752), sister to the above Philipp, was married to Johan Peter Becker. She also immigrated as well as several of her descendants.
