Tuesday's Drawing

Book excerpt: While attending California State University Channel Islands studying to become a teacher, Allison Davenport discovered her love for children's literature. Her first children's book, Tuesday's Drawing, began as a class assignment but has since become much more. This book addresses the loss of a loved one and the profound impact of memories from the perspective of a child. The story is inspired by the relationship between Allison and her Grandfather, Jonathan M.Harrel. With the help of her professor, Claudia Reder, her brother, Timothy Davenport, and several close friends this book became a memorial of his inspiration. Allison hopes that the positive influences expressed in the stories surrounding Jonathan's drawings continue to share his love for life with others.
