Book excerpt: Weight training is a practice which has become more and more important in the development of athletes. Being a physical education instructor as well as coaching multiple sports the researcher in this study tried to determine whether standard strength training or circuit training proved to be more beneficial for students while training during physical education classes. High school students in two classes took part in the study. One section participated in the standard strength training method and the other section participated in the circuit training method. Both pretests and posttests were administered on physical fitness tests and core max tests. A six-week training period was completed by both groups using workouts designed by the instructor. Students using individual data folders to track their daily workouts. This entire process showed students how important weight training is regardless of the style they practice. Both groups showed significant growth and it was determined both styles proved beneficial for students at this age.
