The measure ments of the pieces are given, the height and width for the rect angular pieces, the diameter for the circular pieces, and the height for the pitchers. The second index is arranged alphabetically, containing the names of the cities, towns, and States, the names of the portraits, and numerous cross references. Names of makers, when known, are given in parentheses. Initials are used, when so given on the backs of the pieces, and are as follows.
