Book Synopsis Amish Folk Artist Barbara Ebersol by : David Luthy
Book excerpt: Bsrbara Ebersol (1846-1922) was born in Pennsylvania to Christian Ebersol, Jr. (1814-1890) and Elizabeth Stoltzfus (1814-1892). She was the fifth of ten children. Her father had emigrated from France when he was still young. He had lived for a number of years in Ontario, Canada before settling in Pennsylvania. Barbara was a dwarf and never married; neither did four of her siblings. They remained on the Ebersol farm where she became well-known for her fraktur book- plates.
