Book excerpt: The day I met Cadence, I was drunk, lying on the floor of her rescue singing Twinkle Twinkle to a dog. The second time I met her, she was waitressing at a club. She was a dream, and the way she lit up around me, I thought I found my future. Until my brother let it slip that I own the club and was technically her boss.
