Book excerpt: Moses Hanks (ca. 1747-1831), probably the son of Luke Hanks (d. ca. 1756), married Aggatha Doson, ca. 1768. They had twelve children, 1769-1793, all born in Pittsylvania County, Virginia. The family migrated to Lincoln County, Kentucky, ca. 1798, and to Williamson County, Tennessee, in 1806. Descendants listed lived in Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and elsewhere.
