Book excerpt: Provides data and preliminary interpretations on the types and distribution of kimberlite heavy mineral indicators, metamorphosed magmatic/massive sulphide indicator minerals, and gold grains recovered from modern alluvium, till, and glaciolacustrine samples collected in the Opasatika Lake area located south of Kapuskasing, Ontario. The data can be used to focus exploration efforts for kimberlite, base metal, and gold deposits. Background information is also provided on the bedrock and Quaternary geology of the area, sampling and analytical methods, characteristics of indicator minerals, and data plotting parameters.
